Video Poker Rules

First let us all understand that the objective of the game is to obtain the best possible hand. With that concept in mind you will also need to possess a pretty good understanding of various poker hands. Understanding each of the possible winnings hand eg the rankings of hands is the most important aspect when starting out. The game play itself is truly as simple as understanding exactly which cards to hold or discard in any particular situation.

When beginning play, you will need to select the coin size you want to play. Then choose the number of coins of that size which want to bet. Then in most instances, all you need to do is click deal to start a game.

You will then be dealt five (5) cards which will be displayed in the play area of your screen. Make sure you look them over carefully. You should evaluate the cards in your hand and compare them with the payout schedule on your screen. Any winning hands will be indicated on the payout schedule and, if you have automatic hold enabled, the cards will automatically be kept for you.

After you have contemplated any current winnings hands or the presence of none, you must decide what hand you will attempt to obtain by drawing more cards. You can select to draw one, two, three, four, or all five new cards. New cards will be dealt to replace the ones that you discard.

     

Power Poker

In power poker you will be able to hold an entire column of cards by clicking on the card in that row in the first hand and unselect a column of cards by clicking on that card again. Each time you choose to keep a card a bar saying held will be displayed across the card.

Hold the cards that can potentially give you the highest payout.

Click the draw button to get your new cards. If your cards make up a winning hand you will be offered an opportunity to double your money or to collect your winnings.

If you have won, the game will offer you an additional opportunity to increase your winnings by participating in a doubling phase.

Once you have collected your winnings you can begin another hand by clicking on the deal button.

Double Up Feature

The double up option will gives you a chance to increase your winnings after a winning hand. You will see a double button displayed in most software's after a win. If you wish to, you can choose do take the gamble double or nothing on your current win.

In most cases the double up game consist of being dealt another hand of cards all face down. The dealer will show a card and it will be your objective to pick one card out of your face down cards which is higher than the exposed dealer's card. If the card you chose is higher than the dealers' card, you will the double amount of your original win; if your card is not higher you will lose your original win.
